Are Microneedling Results Permanent?

Microneedling is an effective anti-aging treatment that is widely used to heal many cosmetic issues. It helps the skin get smoother and firmer with no pain or recovery time.

It is a one-of-a-kind dermal roller treatment that uses tiny needles to get through the skin. Its primary purpose is to boost the body’s natural collagen production process

Patients notice smooth, firm, and evenly toned skin after the treatment. It’s usually an effective alternative to treat wrinkles, fine lines, enlarged pores, and diminish the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.

Microneedling is a safe procedure. The aesthetician can perform the treatment in darker skin tones and thin and sensitive skins. Please note that it doesn’t hurt or peel the outer surface of the skin.

Depending on personal characteristics, such as age, skin type, and skin goals, most people require more than one session to experience visible effects. Keep in mind that patients can notice an improvement in tone and texture after the third appointment.

You can anticipate the doctor providing you with a maintenance program to reach the full results.

Beauty experts recommend the initial treatment to be repeated every 30 to 45 days, with maintenance sessions every once or twice a year.

If you’re treating acne scars with Microneedling, your health practitioner will recommend 3 to 4 appointments every four to six weeks. Keep in mind that once the scars are removed, they’ll not resurface.

It’s essential to follow your doctor’s instructions to optimize and lengthen the results.

Before And After Care

  • Avoid using skin products that contain retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, and peelings for approximately six days before the treatment.
  • Prevent sun exposure and sunburns for a minimum of 14 days before the session.
  • We recommend not to wax or use depilatory creams or electrolysis six days before Microneedling.
  • Don’t take anti-inflammatory products like ibuprofen three days before Microneedling, as this stops the body’s inflammatory process that is vital for skin rejuvenation
  • Since bruising is a typical reaction of Microneedling, it’s crucial to avoid blood-thinning agents for at least seven days prior.
  • Don’t use ice on the treated area and restrain from applying arnica or bromelain as this interferes with the process.
  • For a minimum of 14 days, it’s crucial to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Always use a hat and a sunblock with a minimum of 30 SPF.
  • If you suffer from pain or soreness, it’s allowed to take a painkiller like Tylenol.

Finally, remember every person is different, so always consult with a beauty expert to determine if Microneedling is suitable for your needs.
